In January 2025, childhood friends Brage Nilsen Jæger and Vebjørn Myhre, both 32 years old, born and raised in Alta, took over the historic Altafjord Gjestegaard.

Their vision was to breathe new life into a local landmark and create a place the people of Alta could be proud to share with visitors from around the world.

Reimagined as Fjord Hotel Alta, the old guesthouse has been transformed into a more modern boutique hotel — calm, authentic, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

In November 2025, they opened Flo & Fjære Bistro, a cozy restaurant inspired by the sea, the seasons, and the community — completing a new chapter in the story of this beloved place by the fjord.

In January 2026, the duo will open Alta Sauna on the property — a fully modern sauna with panoramic sky and ocean views. With space for up to 20 guests, complete with modern facilities, wardrobe, showers, WC, and ice baths, it will stand as Northern Norway’s most exclusive sauna experience.
